I am humbly shocked at the amount of stuff I receive from home. The guys here are probably getting a little jealous. They even say that I have more items then the local market!! LOL Well I do !!
I arrived back at my team site to find out that 4 gold bags have arrived. I didn’t realize how many boxes were inside! Thanks again to everyone! I think I have more stuff then I know what to do with. I almost had to move out of my cabin as there was no more room for me! LOL
I had to laugh at the sardines and pickled herring, there’s two things I will not be having LOL.
Dave had thought about muscle injuries (of which I have 3 injuries right now) and sent Myoflex…He did try to sneak through alcohol BUT Canada post found it LOL. Ummm yeh – DO NOT send anything that can melt….lol….like chocolate covered marshmallows and chocolate bars..LOL.
Just as a visual – in Khartoum when you want to find a chocolate bar you go to the fridge section of the grocery store.
Todd – great books, Christmas lights and Thanks for the gifts – I didn’t open them till the 25th!
Mom & Dad for the stocking stuffed with great gifts! Loved the pine incense as well.
Angela – Thanks for the soups I will let you know what I think LOL….Thanks for all the other items as well!
Holowatyj’s – Wow 2 boxes full of everything imaginable! The ordainments were well liked and used (see pics) and the other items including those for the children will be distributed. Thanks again for the school supplies they are always appreciated by the small villages. The rubber balls will be a hard sell…they don’t have to many walls and the ground is 99.9% sand everywhere we go…But I will find a use for them… and right now I am thinking the children’s ward at the hospital…I’m sure the staff will be happy with me LOL!!
I also received a Molson Canadian Banner…It was immediately put up on the NEW Canadian German Bar! I was also in competition with my German friends as I placed the Canadian Flag banner around the bar they quickly placed their German Flag banner on the other side… PS: My flags are bigger!
The stuffed animals were a nice touch, again I am thinking the Hospital can use them even if just for display.
I even received a Christmas package from the Canadian Forces (every soldier overseas gets one) which was jammed with various items. There were two shirts, duffle bag, 4 different razors, mugs, CD’s, DVD’s, pens, paper, books, magazines, soap and many other things! It was great!
And thanks for all of the other packages… I could go on forever but its late here…. However I must say I am wearing my new Canadian Hockey PJ’s…
With the lights and other items myself and my new German friend KAI began to decorate the bar area. I must say it looks good for a start. We will by paint this week and then put up a fence. It will all come together. I can still use more items… check out the old and new pics.
