Well we have returned from the Long Range Patrol. I have filled my reports and had a shower. It was time (3:00pm) to head over to the UNMO House and help with some of the preparations for our Christmas Eve party.
One of the guys picked up a tree on his patrol. There are no evergreen trees here so this one is best described as a large Charlie Brown Christmas tree. We got together at the UNMO house for party prep and tree decorating. We painted; I mean I painted the tree red. We waited for the paint to dry and then the guys decorated it using a combination of my lights (from mom) and stars from Lynda and of course a Santa Head.
Myself and Kai (German) decided to get the new German/Canadian bar up and running. We spent a couple hours hanging the lights that were sent from home. This was also a great opportunity to hang the Canadian Flag Banners and the Molson Canadian Banner. We have decided that we also need a DISCO BALL for the bar. Shame it wouldn’t be here for New Years.
Later that night we had a Christmas Eve dinner of Chicken and Fries and salad (Sudan style). There were speeches and welcomes (3 new members) and a good bye (1 guy leaving soon). See pics.
It was a nice night and we wrapped things up around midnight.
