Went on a patrol today to the village of KEILI. It is one of our larger villages and it supports about 5 other villages in the area.
After meeting with the village sheik I asked if we could stop by the local school. This school has about 300+ students and 5 teachers. I spoke to one of the senior teachers and asked if they could use some pencils, erasers, books and maybe a Soccer Ball. When the kids seen the soccer ball they went nuts! As we inflated the ball I noticed some kids in a field playing soccer (they were not paying attention to us) they were playing with what appeared to be a large ball of string and rubber about the size of a soft ball. The teacher and the kids were very happy to have a new soccer ball for their school. See the pics.
I have also included some pictures of major rivers. The funny part is that you will notice that there is NO water!! This is what they mean when they say its DRY season. These rivers are not passable during wet season and there is 0% water during dry season...now I know why these people are suffering.
