Also - If you drop off a package to any military base, armoury or MFRC direct then there is NO CHARGE for mailing. If you want to use Canada Post there will be a charge to mail it to Belleville ON.

Free Overseas Mail Drop-Off Location:

This free service lets families of deployed personnel send parcels free of charge to their loved ones who are serving overseas. This service is available to all families and packages can be dropped off at the TMFRC office (5 Yukon Lane, Toronto, ON M3K 0A1) ASU Toronto - Downsview Base. Proper address information is important! You must include your return address with telephone number and contents must be listed on the outside. For those that are Downtown Toronto - You can also drop it off during the week Monday - Friday 0800-1600 or any Thursday Night at my unit - located at Moss Park Armoury at Queen and Jarvis - look for 25 Field Ambulance and they will ensure the package / envelope gets delivered... again, for free.


NOTE!!! When sending through the MFRC in Toronto they only ship their packages once a week and I believe they ship them Tuesday mornings. Once a package arrives in Bellville it is sent to Dubai and then to Sudan. It can sit on the airport runway in Sudan for up to 2-3 weeks. In total the average package can take up to 4-8 weeks to arrive at my team site. So plan ahead. Also do not send anything from 1 March 2010 onward as it will not arrive by the time I leave.

Do not send anything that can melt or spoil....Reduce packaging as much as possible as we burn all garbage in Sudan.

PS The heavier the package - the longer it will take to arrive...A shoe box is a great size. *** Cards, letters and Pics are the best when deployed overseas ***
