Today I woke up in Damazin. I had a nice small breakfast. I began my in clearance. The final stage included meeting the Sector Commander. He is a Colonel from Pakistan Army.
I was summonsed to his office by escort (along with my new friend from Bolivia). He greeted us and we sat and spoke about the job for about 10 minutes. Then he invited us to Tea.
When we arrived in the "Tea Room" it was about the size of a classroom with a conference table down the centre. There were two Pak servants and the entire upper staff officers from the Pak Army. It was very impressive and formal and it was done just to meet my friend and I. We shook hands and met each of the 13 officers. Then we were offered a buffet of light snacks and desserts. We were then seated beside the Commander as his guests. We ate and spoke of Pakistan using the various pictures around the room as topics. We then had Tea (man it was good) it was made with more milk then just tea.
We finished our tea and were welcomed to the camp. We left and by noon I had the rest of the day off.
Oh, for those that know me well know I don't really drink tea or coffee.. Today I have 4 teas between 0730 and 1200 noon!!
I am now doing homework until I depart tomorrow by Helicopter at 0900hrs.
